In lieu with the rapid development of education system in this new millenium, UTEM has a bold initiative in implementing e-Learning environment specifically for lecturers and students.The objectives is to enhance the education quality level of its academic community.

The establishment of UTeM Solutions Sdn Bhd is part of a strategic plan of Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM) to reduce dependency on government financing whilst optimising the intellectual property of the academic community of UTeM. Via it's commercial arm, UTeM holdings, the establishment of UTeM Solutions Sdn Bhd as a joint venture between the holding company and In-Fusion Solutions Sdn Bhd (ISSB) is a practical solution to enhance the educational technology requirements for UTeM and the education sector at large

Their first pioneer project, UTEM's SPeL (Sistem Pengurusan e-Learning) is a project aimed to create a student centered electronic learning environment and improve the effectiveness of the university's teaching and learning process. SPeL further enables and promotes knowledge sharing among UTeM's community by having a repository of sharable and reusable learning objects across faculties. The growing collection of SPeL's learning objects are driven by the hard work and ongoing commitment of UTeM's SME community from various faculties and centres.
